When you are sent a lifeboat and decide not to take it.....
In the past 2 months, John and I have been working hard to make as many contacts with people who are upside down on their mortgages as we possibly can.
They are in distress, financially.
What has been the MOST distressing to us, is that people are hiding from us, LITERALLY! When they see us walking toward their front yard they run in the house and don't answer the door. When we call they pretend to be someone else. When we leave messages or send letters they won't even call us back to chat.
Now, we realize that facing hard decisions is really difficult. But, what if, the information we have to tell them helps make sense of this messed up housing market? What if, the information, empowers them to make a better decision for their family and future? What if, sticking their head in the sand and hoping that the Bank, the Creditors, the Repo Man or the Realtors will go away, just makes the inevitable outcome worse and more stressful?
We have all heard "knowledge is Power". Why wouldn't someone want the facts about their options to Avoid Foreclosure? If knowledge is truly power, why is it that so many people don't care to get more?
Now, we realize there are many scams being committed on distressed homeowners. This is the exact reason we have been actively reaching out to individual homeowners directly. No Charge, No Obligation, No Strings Attached.
Do we want to list and sell homes? YES! We also know that the short sale option is not viable for everyone.
Should homeowners know about Loan Modification and be told up front by a neutral party how that process works and that 95% of them end up in Foreclosure anyway and Why? YES!
Are there some homeowners that actually getting foreclosed on could be the best option for them? Yes!
Is there a right time and a wrong time to file Bankruptcy and do we believe that attorneys are not telling homeowners the full story about Bankruptcy? YES!
So if you are "hiding" from the bank. Avoiding their calls and ours. Getting your information from a friend, neighbor or relative who has no knowledge of your situation or financial position. Listening to only one option. Or....worse yet....not talking to anyone at all.........
PLEASE get the accurate information you need to make an educated decision about the best option for you and your housing and financial situation.
There are too many ways to avoid foreclosure and move on with your life in a dignified fashion.
